Creating Clear Direction

Without a clear direction, our teams struggle to prioritize the right activities, designate ministry resources, and run effective meetings. Instead of working together toward a shared goal, a team without clear direction struggles to gain traction in their ministry efforts.

Strategic Ministry Planning

Grace in Action (GIA) facilitates the building of your ministry’s Vision/Traction Organizer (VTO) to help ministries get traction and keep moving forward.  The VTO, in conjunction with a highly efficient meeting system taught by GIA, is a Ministry Operating System that houses a powerful strategic planning component. Length determined by ministry needs.  Available onsite or online.

Who:  Ministry leaders and teams

The issue: Some ministries do not have a practice of longer-term planning and simply keep doing what they are doing. As a result, these ministries don’t address obstacles to or seize opportunities for Gospel ministry. Other ministries have plans but don’t get traction in implementing them. And sometimes ministries plan and implement, but from time to time need to renew plans and refresh their implementation processes.

The Solution: The VTO Tool and Process

The VTO tool serves in the following ways:

  • A stewardship tool, aligning and maximizing your people, time, focus, energy, facilities, and financial  resources
  • A nimble tool, making it fluid/seamless for regular updating
  • A succinct tool, housing all key components on two sides of a document
  • A long-term tool, eliminating the need to ever  “start over” with strategic planning
  • An organizing tool, working longer-term targets backward to shorter-term steps in the right direction

GIA will provide the following services and support:

  • Request and organize ministry challenges, ministry opportunities, and longer-term ministry targets before the VTO-Building event takes place
  • Send two people to facilitate the building of your ministry’s VTO and to provide Level 10 Meeting training
  • Create all documents that support the VTO and Level 10 Meeting efforts
  • Provide formal support through the first year of utilizing the VTO tool (periodic reviewing and resetting of strategic tasks; Level 10 Meeting training, modeling, and coaching; first VTO Annual Update)
  • Provide as much off-line support as is needed for the first year and beyond (e.g. helping to onboard new leaders, supporting chair people with Level 10 Meeting support, etc.)

The results: A ministry team that is focused and efficient in carrying out its ministry plan

Strategic Human Resource Planning

A four-step process to align your ministry’s overall goals and strategic plan with your projected Human Resource needs.

Who:  Ministry leaders and teams

The Issue: A growing ministry needs to be proactive about staffing needs. This involves more than replacing people who took a Call or retired. It’s about matching the long-range goals of the ministry with the appropriate staffing.

Businesses usually have a Human Resources (HR) department to coordinate the HR plan for the organization. Ministries generally rely on volunteers for such planning. This can be a daunting task. What do we do? Where do we start?

The Answer: This training guides your leadership team through the 4-step process of Strategic HR Planning:

  1. Assessing the current HR team skills and capacity
  2. Forecasting HR requirements
  3. Completing a gap analysis
  4. Developing HR strategies to fill those identified gaps

Results: Your Strategic HR Plan aligns with the overall goals and strategic plan of your ministry to move forward with God’s blessing!
